Every limited edition print published by the Studio features the
Studio's "embossed" seal as proof that the print was in fact published by the
Studio. "Embossing" is a process by which an uncolored, "raised" image is
pressed directly into the paper.
The image can be 'felt' with your
finger... it is only light and shadow that allows you to see it.
This
embossing is non-reproduceable and unalterable. The seal is pressed into the
paper at a point on the sheet that incorporates the print's number (ie:
12/149)... this ensures that the print number assigned to that sheet cannot be
changed or 'forged'. This seal is your "certificate of authenticity", proving
that the print is legitimate.
This seal is particularly important when
purchasing Jay Koka Studio Edition prints on the "secondary" market... it is
your assurance that it is a legitimate, authentic print.
