| 'Remarque'

A remarque ia a small ORIGINAL pencil drawing created by the
artist in the 'margin' of a limited edition print or poster. Remarques
personalize and individualize a print or poster because each remarque is
unique. This enhances the print or poster's value.
Jay Koka's remarques are generally done in black
pencil but sometimes may be in color pencil crayon or even paint. The example
shown here is from a 'Color of Speed No6' artist proof. While remarques can
vary greatly in size, they are usually sized to fit and enhance the printed
image. The remarque shown here is 5.5 inches (14cm) long.
The "value" in a remarqued print or poster is in the
remarque because it is a real, 'original' signed drawing by the
artist.
